It’s out. It’s here. It’s available for your Kindle device. Shoot the Devil 3: Militia of Martyrs is now on sale at Amazon.

As I previously mentioned, I have stories featured in the first two volumes of this anthology and am proud to have made it into the pages of this one as well.

“Militia” hosts a collection of newcomers as well as veterans to “Shoot the Devil” which is good to hear. This series is dedicated to a concept that seems to have fallen by the wayside in most modern entertainment: the victory of good over evil.

The very idea of “evil” has become incredibly muddied and many books and films (the most recent being Wicked) refusing to acknowledge that there is such a thing as “evil” (except maybe straight, white, Christian males). Rather, anything previously deemed as evil is now reclassified as “misunderstood.”

Casting evil as evil doesn’t mean villains can’t be complex or nuanced. After all, who can really hate a two-dimensional, cardboard cutout bad guy or gal? But in the end, Lex Luthor needs to be put away by Superman. The Joker has to be locked back up in Arkham Asylum by Batman. Captain America must stop the Red Skull, The Fantastic Four must defeat Doctor Doom, and Spider-Man has to end The Green Goblin.

And, in the Christian context of these anthologies, Jesus Christ and his army of believers win over the demonic forces of evil led by the Prince of Lies, Satan.

My own story “The Book of Names” features a nearly immortal man named “Griffin” who has been searching for many centuries for “the Name.” Once he assembles the Name from clues he’s discovered across the world, he will know the secret of destroying all evil.

But he is being constantly being pursued by demonic beings who have possessed many among an unsuspecting humanity. It’s only a matter of time before the forces of Legion catch up with him. In my tale, they do and along with an innocent pawn named Hannah, they intend to end Griffin’s quest and well as his life.

I hope you’ll consider buying and reading Shoot the Devil 3: Militia of Martyrs. If you do, please leave an honest review on Amazon and goodreads. Indie authors and publishers need love, too.
