Okay, with a caveat although it’s still pretty fantastic. As I write this, my YA science fiction novel A Wobblegong and His Boy is the NUMBER ONE BEST SELLER in Amazon’s Children’s Space Exploration books.
I wish that qualified me to say I’m a best selling author but this value can change on an hourly basis.
I looked it all up on Guide to Amazon sales rank: Best Sellers Rank (BSR).
First of all, it’s a best seller only in digital books for Children’s Space Exploration, not overall for Kindle books or even Kindle science fiction books. It’s number one among 100 digital books listed in that category, though I have to believe there are plenty of other books available not listed.
I should say that as of right now, it’s also Number Three in Children’s Alien Books, but that’s just as changeable.
I’m still amazed and thrilled. I haven’t had this sort of accomplishment in writing (or anything else) in all my life. I’ll be seventy-two years old this year so it took a while.
Actually, a lot of the credit goes to the fine folks at Raconteur Press and especially Sam Robb who, among other things, does the marketing for Raconteur. He’s arranged for the online interviews and the other ways of getting my book out there to the public.
That said, if my book didn’t exist or if it wasn’t well written (I’m tooting my own horn a bit here), people wouldn’t keep buying and reading it.
Now I just need people to keep reviewing it. I have five ratings on Amazon so far, three of them are 5-star and two of them are 4-star, with two reviews.
Those of you who have (or are going to) bought and read “Wobblegong,” please, please post ratings and reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. It will really help.
Oh, I’ve been interviewed online three times so far. Only two of the interviews are currently available. The interviews are about thirty to forty-five minutes long. If you want to take a peek at the author and some of the things I have to say behind the scenes about “Wobblegong,” go to:
Edward Willett’s The Worldshapers YouTube channel (opens in a separate tab).
Sunday Superversive Livestream with Ben Wheeler and Anthony Marchetta (opens in a separate tab).
Wobblegong became available on March 20th or exactly one month ago. Here’s hoping for a continued bright reception and response.
