The Qredderq came very close to their goal of communicating with humanity. However, being just a little off was going to have difficult if not disastrous results.
The Qredderq weren’t aliens in that they came from another planet. The Qreddreg were transdimensional life forms, and that sort of life was abundant. However, piercing transdimensional barriers in order to communicate was highly technical, energy intensive, and not always reliable, as the Qredderq were about to find out.
Their goal was to select a leader of a human community, hopefully of a nation or similar body, enter that person’s neurological system, and communicate telepathically, or at least that’s how it would be perceived from a human viewpoint.
They came close. Their essence emerged into our world and they entered a four-limbed object. It just wasn’t human.
Early Sunday morning before anyone else was awake, One of Timmy’s three teddy bears stood up all by itself and addressed the drowsy five-year-old boy.
“Greetings, Earthling. Take me to your leader.”
Actually, just like the flash fiction I wrote yesterday, I got the idea of a “teddy bear” based piece of flash fiction from something on Iain Kelly’s blog.

Enjoyed this James, a fun take on first contact. Again, you could include this and share with the group if you wanted – this one is more generous and let’s you have 200 words to play with!

“include and share with the group.” Not sure what you’re saying here, Iain.

OK, I went back to your blog post and figured out how to share my wee bit of flash fiction with the group. I edited the story down to slightly below 200 words (the original word count was 213, so it wasn’t difficult). Thanks for the tip, Iain.

Oh, this story came about when I read Iain Kelly’s flash fiction “Unwanted Gifts” (link in the body of the blog post at the bottom), which was inspired by this Sunday Photo Fiction challenge. To read any or all of the other stories inspired by the challenge, go Here.

Enjoyed your ‘alien’ take on the prompt a lot. Bit comical and satirical as well.

Aliens are everywhere, even in our teddy bears. Thanks for stopping by and having a read.

This would’ve been the best day of my life if I were Timmy! 🙂 Great story!

Thanks, Sydney. I have a seven-year-old grandson and it would be a dream-come-true for him if his favorite stuffed animal became alive.

That made me laugh. I love the idea of it bing a five year old.
Thank you for joining in the challenge and I look forward to seeing more of your stories James.
