Sally used a rock to crack it open and get at the yummy, gooey center. She took her spoon out of her rucksack, licked off the leftovers from last meal, and dug in.
“Mmmm. Still warm.”
The sun had just set as she pulled her already dead prey into the ravine. Sally liked privacy when she ate. He’d been an easy kill. Lone hikers usually were. Hide in a bush, leap from behind, and then a quick head twist to snap the neck.
She never realized how much fun being a zombie could be. Sally loved the taste of brains.
I’ve probably violated all kinds of zombie lore by making my zombie intelligent, but dumb zombies aren’t really interesting.
Some people have found it disconcerting that I’ve made my vampire Sean Becker so human and reluctant to feed on human blood, so I thought I’d create Sally in this 100 word piece of flash fiction.
She likes the taste of brains and doesn’t mind killing at all.
I wonder if Sally and Sean should meet?
The photo is taken from the iZombie TV show and is of actress Rose McIver in the role of zombie Olivia Moore.
I think Sean would be horrified by Sally. If he hangs around her long enough, maybe she’ll rub off on him and he’ll enjoy feasting on blood. Sally has no shame in her nature. She is what she is and who she is, so why not enjoy what comes along because one shot to the head and she’s forever gone.

Sean has constantly been battling his nature, not only because essentially he’s good person, but because he’s a Christian. If anything, his faith makes it harder to endure life as a vampire.
I haven’t given Sally a lot of thought sinceI originally wrote the story, but making her pure evil and amoral would also make her a boring character. She’s young, about 16 or 17, but why does she enjoy being a zombie when it should be a repulsive experience? I’ll have to give it some thought.

Hmmm. Can you send me the link to Sean’s story? I wanted to see how he is surviving while being a vampire. I imagine life is a struggle. Does he have a soul or not? I’m interested to see what occurs. And Sally is just one of those odd one’s that embraces her nature. What if she just became that way after accepting her reality? Hmmm. You have me thinking! Lol

Sean’s story starts here. There should be a link at the bottom of that story that leads to the next one. Each subsequent story should have a link at the bottom that takes you to the next one. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Eww! Well that put me of my strawberries!
Great story and love the different take on a zombie! She’s a clever one that Sally! She even carries a spoon with her!

Well, the spoon makes it faster and easier to scoop up the brains. Thanks.
