Odd Bedfellows

Sex with Rafe was a cervical pain, even though she always cried out, “Deeper! Go deeper!”

“I’m…going…as…deep…as…I…”

“No, not yet! I’m not ready!”

But it was too late. The callous putz had finished inside of her, sending countless tens of millions of sperm cells searching fruitlessly for a fertile home in which to invade.

“Get off. You’re crushing me.”

“Whatever you say, Babe.”

Bonnie felt his now flaccid member slipping from between her moist thighs, and then her lover’s hot kisses descending from her neck, lingering over full, sweaty breasts, and then continuing down her body.

“At least you’re considerate enough to…Oh!” She gasped as his tongue found the fleshy focus of her pleasure, sending her progressively nearer to the brink of ecstasy.

Afterward, she always wanted to cuddle, but the contemptuous lout got out of bed, put on his robe, made himself a sandwich, grabbed a cold beer, and turned on the tube.

Rolling off the wet spot, she put on her dressing gown and walked into the living room. “It wouldn’t kill you to stay in bed with me for a few minutes after we finish.”

“Hey. You want a sandwich? I left the fixings out on the counter. Make yourself one and come watch the game.” He didn’t take his eyes off of the television screen when he talked to her.

“Of all the guys in this city, why did I end up hooked with you?”

Cause I’m great in bed, and you know it, Babe. Now stop talking. I can’t hear the game.” He grabbed the remote and mashed down on the volume button trying to drown her out.

She’d considered killing him more times than she could count, but he was right about one thing. He was the best lover ever. The forty-year-old triple divorcee had even retired her beloved vibrator because of him.

“I’ve got to get some sleep. I’ve got work tomorrow.”

“Suit yourself. See you later, Babe.” He took another bite of his tuna and mayo sandwich, then casually deposited it on the plate sitting on the sofa next to him.

“Would you mind turning down the sound? I can’t sleep through that.”

“Yeah. No problem.” He deftly manipulated the remote again, smearing mayonnaise on it.

“I must suffer from chronic stupidity,” she muttered as she headed back to the bedroom.

Shutting the door behind her, she saw her clock on the nightstand announcing 12:45 a.m. “Great. I have to get up in less than six hours.”

Tossing off her robe, Bonnie quickly climbed under the blankets. The sheets were still warm, and she tried to get comfortable while avoiding the moist part of the mattress where his passion and hers had been spilled. She’d end up lying on it when he finally came to join her, his body being the counterweight to hers in bed.

As she began to doze, she remembered her therapist telling her she could never get closure when a relationship ended. That’s why she drifted from one man to another, never imagining what life could be like alone.

Bonnie and Rafe had almost nothing and common. Sex was their only mutual currency, but it was fantastic sex. He was the only guy who could keep up with her insatiability. She’d probably wake him up in a few hours for another round before she had to get ready for work.

“Oh damn. I forgot.”

Bonnie tossed off the covers and this time didn’t bother with the robe. Marching back into the living room, she saw Rafe do a double-take as he spied her nude body, which was in pretty good shape for what he called “an older broad.”

“What’s up, Babe? You in the mood again?”

She put her hands defiantly on full hips. “I just came to remind you that you have class in the morning, you dope. Try to get to bed by one or you’ll never make it to school on time.”

“Yeah. Sure. Whatever you say. Game’s boring anyway. I’ll come to bed in a minute.”

“Fine.”

She swiveled and then sauntered back down the hall. Settling onto the mattress, she thought about having him take her again before going to sleep, even though they’d both be exhausted in the morning. He’d smell like beer and tuna fish, and get the sheets greasy, but that would be a small price to pay. “Why am I living with a seventeen-year-old boy?” Then the door swung open and Rafe walked in. He casually dropped his robe on the floor, exposing his once again erect maleness. “Oh yeah, that’s why.”

I wrote this for Bonus Wordle “The Letter C” hosted at Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie. The idea is to use at least ten of the twelve words below in a poem, short story, or other creative work. I used all twelve (and since “consider” was listed twice, I used it twice). The words are:

Callous
Counterweight
Cervical
Closure
Currency
Consider
Chronic
Cause
City
Crush
Consider
Contemptuous

Yes, this is a naughty tale, and I could have used the word “cervical” in a completely different way, thus sending my story in a radically different direction, but it was the first thing that popped into my head. Bonnie clearly has issues.

Oh, the term Cougar can refer to an older woman who seeks sexual encounters with younger men.
