Nearly a week ago, I published the blog post “Saving the Apostle” to be featured in the Planetary Anthology “Saturn”. This is particularly exciting for me because most of the time, I can’t write science fiction with a religious theme, particularly involving Judaism and Christianity, that is, with any hope of seeing such a tale published.
Heck, I’d written the story originally for a Christian science fiction periodical which turned it down.

Saturn is not only a planet or a pagan god, but the symbol of time and time travel. My short story is a remarkable marvel in that it presents a wholly Jewish view of early Christianity and particularly of the Apostle Paul. My friend “ProclaimLiberty” was directly responsible for the success of this tale, and without him, it wouldn’t exist, so thank you, good sir.

I was going over various Amazon reviews of anthologies where my stories have been featured and came across one for Fall Into Fantasy: 2019. My tale “The Demon in the Mask” appeared within the pages of this Cloaked Press publication.
Even when such anthologies do well in the reviews, my stories are pretty much never mentioned (I look anyway). Lo and behold, this time something happened.

“When are you coming home, Reggie?”
“Countdown commences in just a little over ten minutes, Desirae.”
He had plenty of time to wrestle with his inner agonist during the 32 minute round trip it would take for his voice to reach her and then for her reply to whistle through his headset. He could still see her, the last time before his final trip to Earth. She was standing near a high dune, the last rays of the sun glinting off of her space helmet. The shadows of a dying planet rendering her as an eldritch specter. She didn’t find out she was pregnant until three weeks after he left her.
Leaning back in the co-pilot’s seat, Reggie Dwight ran down the pre-flight checklist of numerous details, as if recounting the recipe of a casserole. Then he jumped against his restraints as Colonel Iraida Simms accidentally sent her archaic clipboard clattering to the deck.
“Sorry,” she murmured in uncharacteristic chagrin.
He felt his fingers harden against the edges of his state-of-the-art tablet. “No problem.” He knew his voice betrayed his anxiety.

Okay, it’s only partly available. The Kindle version can be purchased and downloaded now, but the hard copy edition is still being worked on. Still, finally, finally “Sorcery’s Preschool” has seen the light of day.
I have cover credit and I’m listed with some of the other authors at the top of the page, but according to L. Jagi Lamplighter, Amazon only allows up to ten authors to be listed, so for the paperback, my name won’t be up top.
I came across this thanks to a tweet by Jon Del Arroz. Apparently Jane Dismantle White Supremacy tweeted a complaint to the World Fantasy Con 2020 about how incredibly offensive their panels were, or at least how offense their descriptions were. You can find the letter on Google Docs, but I took screenshots of all of the tweets responding to her to date and the entire letter in case she decides to delete them (that happens occasionally).

First of all, I totally hate this new WordPress editor, absolutely hate it. Why can’t I choose to have my old editor which I knew so well?
Anyway, I hope you can see the image I selected because I can’t. It’s a screenshot of my original screenshot of Representative Dan Crenshaw calling out former Vice President and current Presidential candidate Joe Biden on something he said that, in my opinion as well as Mr. Crenshaw’s is absolutely untrue.

I apologize for the inconvenience, but for the foreseeable future, I’m going to be moderating every comment made on this blog. I had to do this some years ago on a companion blog to keep conversations civil, but events have occurred that have resulted in me making that same decision here.
I’m sure if you’ve been reading this blog for any period of time, you have realized I can be opinionated, and as fair as I want to be, as much as I want to provide a platform for all voices, occasionally one comes along that crosses the line. I bear some responsibility for creating the situation, but this seems the only decision I can make to correct it.
